Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Medical Retainership Scheme was set up in 1997. The main objective of the scheme is to provide private services for families, companies, groups and corporate organizations that require special services in Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.

 

 

OUR SERVICES

The scheme provides various services to the clients in the area of health care and medical social welfare services. The following services are available.
Retainership Outpatient Clinic (R.O.P.C):
The scheme provides outpatient consultation and management to clients. The retainership Outpatient Clinic (ROPC) is the first point of call to patients when they come for treatment before they are referred to various consultants for specialty care.

Emergency Services
Emergency Services are available 24 hours including weekends and public holidays at the emergency unit. All medical and surgical emergencies are attended to promptly. This includes paediatrics (Children) emergencies at the Emergency Paediatric Unit (EPU) within the same building. Gynae emergencies at Gynae Ward. Retainership clients are required to identify themselves to the records officer and cashier at the A&E Unit to assist them to facilitate adequate specialty care.

Ante Natal & Delivery Services
Special and private Ante Natal Delivery Services are provided at the clinic on Mondays and Thursdays.

In Patient Services
In patient services are available with single and double bedded amenity rooms. Critically ill patients and neonates receive best attention.

Laboratory Services
Different kinds of laboratory investigations are provided at the clinic with specialized equipment such as express plus and elecsys 1010.

Abdullahi Bayero Diagnostic Centre
The Following services are provided:

1. EEG
2. ECG
3. Endoscopy
4. Spirometry
5. Dialysis

 

 

 

 

HOW TO JOIN THE SCHEME

To join the scheme, interested clients should forward a formal letter with full contact address to the Chief Medical Director of the hospital indicating interest in the scheme.

A minimum deposit of N100, 000.00 is charged for corporate organizations, companies, groups, banks, etc. While the sum of 25,000.00 to 50,000.00 is charged for individuals depending on their family size.

All payment of deposit is done through the retainership cashier at the retainership clinic.

Individual clients will then submit the list f their family members eligible to be treated under the scheme along with their photographs.

While corporate organizations and companies are to provide introductory letters whenever their staff is coming for medical treatment (and that includes their families as well), in addition, staff should also present their I.D card on arrival to the retainership records officer.

All organizations should send their specimen signature of officers authorized to sign introductory letters.

A statement of account informing you on your account balance would be made available from time to time reminding you to replenish your deposit.
