SERVICOM INTRODUCES SERVICE IMPROVEMENT CHALLENGE FUND
Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Servicom Unit submitted a competitive proposal to the servicom service improvement challenge fund to enable it implement its service improvement plan. The hospital won an award for the sum of Five Million Six Hundred and Sixty Two Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Naira Only (N5, 662,750.00) to be used for the payment of monthly allowance for 5 information/complaint desk officers to be employed.
The key areas for improvement are:-
1. Introduction of appointment system to reduce waiting time to less than 1 hour in the GOPD.
2. Introduction of split appointment system (8.00am, 10.00am and 12.00noon) in the Antenatal Clinic.
3. Establishment of servicom information/complaint desks at strategic service windows (GOPD, A&E, Specialty Clinic, Laboratory and Obstetrics and Gynaecology).
4. To change staff attitude towards patients and relatives.
The award was received by the Chief Medical Director. Dr. A. I. Dutse in a ceremony organized at the office of Secretary to the Federal Government.
Accreditation:-
The National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria has granted Anaesthesia Department partial accreditation for 2 years to train 10 residents.
A letter from the College signed by its Registrar Prof. O. E. Antia – Obong, indicated that the decision was arrived at the 86th meeting of the senate of the College on the report of the Accreditation Visitation panel to the hospital.
