NEW BOARD CHAIRMAN SOLICITS FOR COOPERATION

The 4th Board of Management of the hospital held its first meeting on the 14th of April 2009 with the Heads of Department. The New Chairman assured the HOD’s that he will work hard to uplift the hospital and called on them to have an open mind and to regard the Board Members as part of them.

Commenting, during the interactive session, Dr. Muhd Abba Iya congratulated the Board Members and wished them a successful tenure. He then spoke on the shortage of bed spaces in the hospital and called on the Board Members to advocate for the reactivation of Primary and Secondary Health Institutions within the state and Local Government Areas.


The board members were also conducted round the hospital to acquaint them with the facilities and equipment available.

Similarly, the Board Members paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano where areas of mutual cooperation and assistance were discussed. The Vice Chancellor of BUK, Prof. Attahiru Jega commended AKTH Management for giving BUK Staff rebate on hospital services.

The Chairman of the Board, Prof. Idris Mohammed called for the location of the faculty of medicine within the hospital for easy access to patients and better clinical studies.
