HORTICULTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH

Aim and Objectives
1. To attain and maintain a clean and healthy hospital environment.
2. To undertake vector/pest control exercise
3. To ensure and maintain a beautiful hospital environment through provision of ornamental trees and flowers.
4. To project the existing flora within the hospital for posterity.

Departmental Functions
1. Ensures general sanitation of the hospital
2. Undertake pest/vector control exercise
3. Ensure beautification of the Hospital by the provision of ornamental trees and flowers
4. maintain plant orchards and nursery development
5. Undertake fumigation of operating theatres and drug manufacturing unit periodically.

6. Undertake lawns establishment and maintenance.
7. Disposal of unclaimed corpses and specimen from Histopathology department
8. Collection and disposal of expired unit of blood and safety boxes.
9. Procurement of sanitary and landscaping materials
10. Conduct training and research in relevant areas.
