PSYCHIATRY

Introduction
The main objective of the Department is to provide mental health care to Kano State residents and to people from other parts of the country and beyond. In addition, the department is involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate training of students as well as administrative and research activities.

The Department being within a tertiary health facility with provision for other medical and surgical conditions provides mental health outpatient services in a less stigmatizing environment. Hoping that the provision of inpatient services within the same facility would soon be a wish comes true.
