Department Functions
1. Rendering Histo/Cytopathological services to Aminu Kano Hospital, and hospitals in Kano and environs.
2. Storage and embalmment of Corpses
3. Performing post mortem examinations for clinicians and coroner.
4. Residency training programme for doctors
5. Teaching of Medical Students.
6. Provision of Practical experience to intern medical lab scientist, Medical lab. Technicians/ assistants and students on industrial attachment.
7. Provision of teaching slides and museum pot specimens for both undergraduate and post graduate teaching.
8. Conduct of scientific research.
9. Cancer registry activities.
10. Generate funds for the continuous existence of the department.
